THE GUIDE: Resources for the Disabilities Community

The The Guide: Resources for the Disabilities Community is designed to assist people who are disabled and their family and friends to find services and resources to improve their lives. We hope you find it useful.

The Guide is a work-in-progress. If you know of a resource that would be of interest to the disability community, please e-mail it to gwilson@heimberglaw.com.

Many national organizations have local chapters; you may find this information on the web sites listed in The Guide; if not, ask for contact information when you call or e-mail the national organization.

If someone you know would like a copy of The Guide, please refer them to our web site, www.heimberglaw.com, to download a copy.

The Heimberg Law firm has long championed the most vulnerable members of our society -- those who have been severely, permanently and wrongly injured. Steve (who is a doctor as well as a lawyer), leads a legal team dedicated to battling wrongdoers, whether HMOs, hospitals, nursing homes, medical personnel, insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies, reckless drivers, manufacturers of defective or dangerous products, or others.

Steve's commitment to the disability community extends past the walls of the courtroom and into their personal lives through their support of Shane's Inspiration, WYNGS and other charitable organizations.

In essence, Heimberg Law Group, LLP aggressively and ethically pursues the best possible lives for those who come to them for help.

SUPPORT GROUPS

most national associations have local chapters, which can provide you access to local support and resources. Request a contact to the local chapter when you call, or look for the link to a local chapter when you view a national association's web site.

If there isn't a support group in your area or around your issue of concern, consider beginning your own parent support group. Parent to Parent of Pennsylvania provides an online guide that goes through all the basics of starting and running a parent support group
